2008: Cool Running?

One thing I was beginning to notice was that the LS1 was running a bit warmer during slow traffic. I'm suspecting the fans but decided to check the coolant and swap out the thermostat in any case. Probably a waste of time, but time will tell.

I was expecting some gunk to be present in the original Dexcool, especially after 100 000 km. The overflow tank dipstick had me thinking I'd find a dirtier coolant in my system, but that was not the case... it was looking fairly clean.

Access to the thermostat itself was hell.

Of course, GM part numbers just HAD to change. Looks like the new T-stat has a slightly lower temperature.

At least we managed to have some fun with the car before it was time to pack it up for 2008.
