2008: Carburetor Rebuild

At this point I was itching to deal with the rough idle and hard warm starting. I took the plunge on a carburetor rebuild.

The rebuild was a great source of discussion at the dinner table.

Here's the original.

With the carburetor and EGR plate removed, after much careful disconnection.

While trying to figure out the purpose of the shiny plate between the carb gasket and manifold, it was eventually discovered that the EGR port was completely caked solid.

Some poking and lots of vacuuming got it cleared.
